Explanation
Indicates in which classes the patent has been classified. There are 8 main classes, A-H.

It is recommended to use truncation to search IPC-classes for patents,
because there are several versions of the classification system and the classes are entered in slightly different formats.

When searching for an exact term use "…", example: "C12N 1/00"
Searching several classes in the search field IPC classes combined with AND/OR shows hits on the exact combinations. Example: "C12N 1/00" and "A23K 3/03"

If you wish to search for published patents or an extract of patent applications for a specific time period and/or
for a limited technical field, you can use this field in combination with the field "Published granted".
